What’s the story about???
Erick Oh had the idea of making this short after he watched the evening news: mainly tragic events. He was asking “Why do we destroy each other for” ? The heart symbolises Love, money, precious ressources, and so on. For the rest, you can interprete it as you feel.
I decided to watch the short thinking the heart symbolizes “Love”: good times, bad times, people criticizing or wanting you to break up. I understand the ending as the end of a deep but painful relationship.. The character rather rip off his heart then suffering. And by renouncing to his heart, He renounces to life itself.
I would love to have the soundtrack of this short!!!! truly moving
This is honestly highly inspirational to me! It captures a very similar style that I love and passionate about, that is using real and imaginary characters to personify our inner feelings, realities or similar ideas through metaphors. I particularly love how much of emphasis and importance you’ve given to the soundtrack as much as the animation! I hope you do great man! This was just ‘meh.’ The story and imagery was a bit too convoluted and vague, to the point where I noticed the tiniest bits of pretentiousness seeping through, unfortunately. The music, however, was right on key with the animation and done really well.
